    Lippi: I've tried to convince AC Milan's Maldini of comeback

    Italy coach Marcello Lippi has admitted he's tried to coax AC Milan captain Paolo Maldini out of retirement.

    "I have called Maldini to try and convince him to return," said Lippi. "But he has asked me to respect his decision to retire.

    "From our point of view, we won't ask him again."
