Maradona: Messi The Man For Inter Argentina legend Diego Maradona has spoken of the reported interest in Lionel Messi from Serie A leaders Inter.
The young sensation is currently out injured but is regarded as one of the best prospects in Europe.
"Is it true that (Inter president Massimo) Moratti wants Messi?" Maradona was quoted as saying in La Gazzetta dello Sport. "I can't see Barcelona letting Messi slip away, but if I was to recommend someone to Moratti then that player would be Messi, the most exciting player on the market today.
"I wouldn't think twice about it. With Messi, Inter can become one of the strongest teams in the world."
Inter’s chances of signing Messi appear zero as Barca will not allow the talented playmaker to leave.
Maradona was in Moscow at the weekend to watch his fellow countrymen play Russia in the Davis Cup tennis final.
