"Yes the MPR videos store a series of compressed car states, just like multiplayer packets. So if there is a tiny physics difference then it will make no difference to the video playback, the error in the gap between packets is much greater.
However, GST videos work by storing only a start state and then all the inputs. So if there is 0.000001 mm difference in the physics calculation, the car will begin to go off course more and more until it goes completely wrong and the car will be driving into the walls and so on - we call that an out-of-sync video, it comes up as a bug sometimes."
