An RPC1 firmware defeats the internal counters within the drive and
removes region enforcement. This is only HALF of the equation. You
need to use DVD Genie or similar software to control your player

Flashing this firmware requires some risk on your part. If you are not
comfortable with this please do not proceed. We cannot guarantee it will
work or flash correctly in any environment out of our control.
The RPC1 firmware is supplied as a Windows Flasher, with a firmware in
Hex format file IDE.HEX. You are strongly advised to backup your current
firmware, as you are the ONLY person who has it, we don't have it, so
don't come asking for it. It is unique to YOUR drive. Backing up the
firmware is optional.
Use MTKTOOL to backup the drive under Real DOS, a DOS box under Windows
is not suitable. Run MTKTOOL without parameter to see the options.
Assuming a secondary master drive the command line is
MTKTOOL -sec -mas -out ORIGINAL.BIN
To flash the drive in Windows run the JC5_DOWN executable.
