The three goals that he has scored against O.L. in the Champions League group stage, seem to have convinced the French club president Jean-Michel Aulas to make a serious attempt for Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino; a first contact has been made, without any result, last month, but now, according to French sources, O.L. are ready to offer up to 25 million euros. The French champions had already made an attempt with AC Milan in the summer of 2007, but the following year the Piemontese striker has moved to Fiorentina for 16 million Euros. After his incredible first part of the season he is now worth at least twice such amount.

A futballista azt is közölte a klubelnökkel és Claude Puel vezetõedzõvel, hogy semmiképpen sem hosszabbítja meg a szerzõdését, vagyis nyáron mindenképpen távozik. Lille winger Michel Fernandes Bastos has said that he wants to join Ligue 1 leaders and champions Lyon.

Bastos, 25, has scored seven goals in 17 matches this season and his side lie eighth in the standings.

"It's my dream to play for a big club," the Brazilian told France Football.

"Today in France, these clubs are Lyon, Marseille and Paris St-Germain. But if I had to choose, it would be Lyon for me."

One of the big factors attracting Bastos to Les Gones is that former Lille boss Claude Puel is in charge at Stade Gerland.

"We were together at Lille for two seasons," Bastos added.

"He knows me well. There would be no need to adapt.

"Puel has helped me a lot. He was the one who brought me to Lille."

According to the Sunday Express, Manchester United are now favourites to sign O.L. striker Karim Benzema after Real Madrid ruled out a move. However, the french club want nearly £90m for the 20-year-old.

Olympique Lyonnais striker Karim Benzema will be unavailable for at least a fortnight after pulling a muscle in his right thigh, ruling him out of Lyon's final Group F game against FC Bayern München at Stade de Gerland on 10 December.

Benzema picked up the injury while on international duty with France last week and though coach Claude Puel deemed him fit enough to start in the 2-1 win against ACF Fiorentina on Tuesday, he has since stated the 20-year-old will be sidelined for "at least two weeks". Benzema scored Lyon's second goal in Florence, his fourth of the campaign, as the French champions qualified for the last 16 for the sixth season in succession. They will win the group should they defeat Bayern or hold them to a goalless draw on Matchday 6. Puel will also be without captain Juninho and central defender Cris for the section decider as both are suspended after being booked against the Viola. While Benzema sits out Saturday's Ligue 1 home game with Valenciennes FC, Argentinian forward César Delgado and Brazilian midfielder Fábio Santos are available for selection after injury.

Olympique Lyon and France defender Anthony Reveillere will be out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

"He tore a cruciate ligament in his left knee and will miss the rest of the season," Lyon coach Claude Puel said before adding the right back would probably need surgery.

Reveillere, who has five caps, picked up the injury 11 minutes into Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Paris St Germain in Ligue 1.

Lyon, who travel to Fiorentina in the Champions League on Tuesday, are already without France defender Francois Clerc until January because of a knee injury.

Lamine Gassama, 19, is expected to deputise for the Ligue 1 champions in Florence.

Lyon will be without midfielder Mathieu Bodmer for up to 10 weeks after he decided to have surgery to treat a groin injury.

The former Lille man, 25, is considered a squad player by Les Gones but has started eight out of 14 Ligue 1 matches this season.

Lyon lead the standings by seven points from Marseille and have Juninho, Jeremy Toulalan, Kim Kallstrom and Jean Makoun vying for the central midfield positions, although Bodmer can also play in defence.

The seven-time French champions made the announcement on their website and added that Argentine forward Cesar Delgado would be out of action for two weeks also because of a groin injury.
