SeeMyVision #2266 Manchester United are thought to be closing in on Karim Benzema of Lyon. Miralem Pjanic, one of the Benzema's team-mates, has claimed the France striker is "nearly gone" to Old Trafford. Pjanic added: "The English club are willing to pay close to 45 million euros (£38m) for him and it is just a question of the day when he will move to England."
It's not just Manchester United fans who are getting excited about the possible arrival of Karim Benzema - Real Madrid are also thought to be close to capturing the in-demand striker. Marca claims the Spanish giants are willing to pay 35 million euros for the Lyon striker, although that's not even close to the 45m United are prepared to pay.
Galatasaray are tracking French winger Sidney Govou (30), who has not renewed his contract with Olympique Lyon and is therefore a free agent.

SeeMyVision #2265 SWEDEN: Swedish midfielder Kim Kallstrom appears to be on his way from French giants Lyon to Greek giants Olympiacos for about five million euros (Expressen).
Lyon coach Claude Puel has admitted the club would let Karim Benzema leave if the striker wished to do so.
The 21-year-old is one of the world's hottest properties at the moment, with Internazionale, Manchester United and Real Madrid among the clubs reportedly considering a 40 million euro (£32m) bid.
Both Lyon and Benzema have always claimed he will remain at the Stade Gerland at least until next summer's World Cup, but Puel knows that could swiftly change.
"We know his importance at OL and his efficiency in our squad," Puel told the club website. "He's an exceptional player, but we also know the financial figures of the club."
He added: "We will evaluate the situation with him when he comes back - July 2 - what he wants to do, we'll listen to him.
"For several months he has said that he wishes to stay with us for the year before the World Cup.
"If he has any dreams of leaving we will discuss them with him if there are any concrete offers, which is not the case at the moment.
"So there is no 'Benzema problem' because the player is still with us. Ahead of a transfer which could be out of the ordinary, there is everything to consider."
Puel insists, however, that Benzema will only leave if the club manage to line up a suitable replacement.
"We will study the situation if it happens to present itself," he continued. "This doesn't mean that he will definitely leave Lyon.
"For any coach it would be a great loss to lose Karim. It would mean that we have to replace him - therefore it would be out of the question to lose Karim if one or two players of his calibre were not coming in."
Sources from Spain claim that Olympique Lyon officials made an attempt to sign Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar from Real Madrid, but he rejected the offer.

SeeMyVision #2264 Marseille have agreed a 17m euro fee with Porto for Lucho Gonzalez. Lisandro Lopez, also of Porto, is also set for a move to France, with Lyon interested in the Argentine star.
Mauro Camoranesi's agent says the Juventus midfielder will not move to Lyon in a swap deal involving fellow Italian Fabio Grosso. After all, "his life is organised in Turin" now and he "has also bought a new house" according to Sergio Fortunato.
On the subject of Karim Benzema, Lyon director of communications Olivier Blanc told L'Equipe: "We have not received any official offer for Karim, either from Madrid, Manchester or Arsenal. We had first contact with Real in the middle of last week. Anyway 32m euros (£27m) is not very realistic. If Madrid really made an offer, it would have been superior."

SeeMyVision #2263 Arsenal have entered the race to sign France and OL forward Karim Benzema by bidding 35 million Euros. However, Manchester United and Real Madrid remain the favourites to sign the player (as previously reported).

SeeMyVision #2262 Real Madrid have reportedly offered 32 million euros for Lyon striker Karim Benzema after switching their attention to the France international from Valencia forward David Villa.
Spanish sports daily Marca said the French have yet to respond to Real's offer but last week Bernard Lacombe, adviser to Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas, told Marca that "nothing is impossible and if we receive a good offer we will not close the door to anyone."
Lyon's director of communication Olivier Blanc said merely that "the only news is Real Madrid contacted Lyon a few days ago to discuss Karim Benzema."
"Benzema and Olympique Lyon confirmed his initial desire is to stay another year with Lyon," Blanc said, adding that was also the club's preference.
Manchester United are also admirers of Benzema but Real have decided to swoop now given the reluctance of Valencia's new chairman Manuel Llorente to sell them Spain striker Villa.
Real chairman Florentino Perez, who has already landed Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka this summer for huge fees, has twice met with Benzema's agent Karim Djaziri, first in Madrid then Geneva, Marca reported last Wednesday as the chase hotted up.
As well as a cash deal, media reports in Spain say Real and Lyon could look at a part-exchange in the shape of either Real's Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar or his compatriot, winger Arjen Robben.
OL want Juventus winger Mauro Camoranesi in exchange for Grosso. On the other hand, Juventus do not want to give up Camoranesi. Juventus officials will try to convince OL with some alternative solutions in a few days. If a deal will not be reached then, Grosso will not be able to join Juventus.
FC Seville are tracking OL's Cameroonian midfielder Jean Makoun (26). The news comes from his agent Nikola Franco.

SeeMyVision #2256 As reported yesterday, Real Madrid are interested in Sweden and Inter Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Today's news is that Real Madrid chairman Florentino Perez will soon bid around 60 million Euros plus Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to get Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Inter Milan are tempted to accept, but would not keep Huntelaar. In fact, they plan to bid 15 million Euros plus Huntelaar for France and Olympique Lyon striker Karim Benzema. Negotiations between Real, Inter and O.L. could begin soon.
It seems that OL are ready to swoop for PSG 25 year old striker Guillaume Hoarau, who has scored 17 goals in Ligue 1 this past season.

Manchester United want to sign Karim Benzema but Lyon should not ask for more than £35 million, according to the player's agent.
"(Sir Alex) Ferguson wants Karim this summer," representative Karim Djaziri was quoted saying by the Daily Mail. "However his transfer fee will not be above £35m.
"He is only 21, the only time a transfer of a 21-year-old went so high it was Robinho's transfer to Real Madrid (from Santos).
"Karim can't be valued higher than David Villa, who will cost more than £40m."
Lyon have been playing hardball over Benzema, who has also attracted interest from Real Madrid and Chelsea.
They initially insisted he would cost upwards of £60m but admitted they would take less if the player wanted to leave.
Both Benzema and his club previously stated that he will stay at Stade Gerland until after the 2010 World Cup.
Real Madrid have made an enquiry about Lyon and France striker Karim Benzema, according to the Ligue 1 club.
The Manchester United target, 21, has been linked with a move away from Stade Gerland for the past two seasons but both player and club insisted that he will remain until at least the 2010 World Cup.
But, while Les Gones still maintain that he will stay, Madrid are prepared to splash the cash to bring yet another big name to the Bernabeu after the signing of Kaka and expected purchase of Cristiano Ronaldo.
"Benzema and Lyon have both confirmed their intentions to continue working together," the Ligue 1 club's director of communications, Olivier Blanc, was quoted as saying by Marca.
"The only new issue is that Real Madrid contacted us a few days ago to ask about the club's position regarding Benzema.
"But we know the player wants to stay one more year at Lyon and we want to keep him."

SeeMyVision #2245 Olympique Lyon officials have set their sights on FC Porto's Argentine forward Lisandro Lopez (26), who is worth 20 million Euros.
AC Milan and Manchester United are both interested in France and Olympique Lyon forward Karim Benzema, who is worth around 30-35 million Euros.
If Karim Benzema will leave Olympique Lyon, the French club officials will try to sign one among these forwards : Keirrison (Palmeiras) or Kleber (Cruzeiro) or Lisandro Lopez (FC Porto).
According to Aujourd'hui en France, Olympique Lyon are still interested in Inter Milan and Argentina defender Nicolas Burdisso (27), who was already tracked by the French club a few months ago.

Interviewed by RMC, Olympique Lyon utility player Mathieu Bodmer (26) said: "I am remaining at Olympique; I have talked with coach Claude Puel and he told me that he counts on me for the future. He has also said he will let me play as a centre-back, which is my favourite position".
By signing Diego, Juventus have already spent a significant part of their budget for the current transfer market, so the next move will be selling some of their players. One of the main candidates to leave Turin is David Trezeguet. At present, the obstacles for his transfer are his price tag and his high salary. A solution will soon be taken. In the meantime, AS Roma, AC Milan and Olympique Lyon are interested.
As recently reported, Juventus officials are seeking a new left back and the main targets remain Liverpool's Andrea Dossena, O.L.'s Fabio Grosso, Inter's Maxwell and Fiorentina's Manuel Pasqual. One of these four players will join Juventus.

SeeMyVision #2243 Oympique Lyon General Manager Bernard Lacombe addressed recent transfer rumours that linked his club with two Inter Milan players (Patrick Vieira and Amantino Mancini). Lacombe said: "Patrick Vieira is a great player, but it's not our policy to sign players who are over 30 years old and with a high salary. .... We have been tracking Amantino Mancini since he was playing for Sao Caetano in Brazil. We tried to sign him from AS Roma, but he chose to join Inter. Why should we sign him now that he has just played a few games with Inter ?!".
Olympique Lyon officials are still interested in Croatia and Heerenveen left-back/winger Daniel Pranjic. The French club already tried to sign him last summer.
According to French media sources, Oympique Lyon have contacted Siena with the aim of signing 27 year old Moroccan midfielder Houssine Kharja.

We have contacted Karim Djaziri (the agent of France and Olympique Lyon forward Karim Benzema) to find out what the status of his client is in regard to the upcoming summer transfer market. Djaziri said : "At present, we have not been officially contacted by any clubs, although we know there is interest for Benzema. Anyway, he wishes to remain at O.L. next season and the club officials want to keep him. .... Even if O.L. would fail to qualify for next season's Champions League, Benzema prefers staying because his objective for next season is to participate at the 2010 World Cup with the national team and he knows that playing for one of the greatest French clubs is an advantage for him. Being an O.L. player basically guarantees a place in the French national team. .... Anything can happen in the future, but I have the feeling Benzema will remain at O.L.".

Juventus officials are planning to approach O.L. forward Karim Benzema and sign him in the summer of 2010. Since O.L. are interested in Juventus striker David Trezeguet, a deal could be arranged. Trezeguet would join O.L. this summer and Benzema would move to Juventus next year.
