CONFIG_BLK_DEV_VIA82CXXX:
This allows you to configure your chipset for a better use while running PIO/(U)DMA, it will allow you to enable efficiently the second channel dma usage, as it may not be set by BIOS. It will try to set fifo configuration at its best. It will allow you to get information from /proc/ide/via provided you enabled "/proc file system" support.
Please read the comments at the top of drivers/ide/pci/via82cxxx.c.
If you say Y here, then say Y to "Use DMA by default when available" as well.
-----------
CONFIG_IDEDMA_PCI_AUTO:
Prior to kernel version 2.1.112, Linux used to automatically use DMA for IDE drives and chipsets which support it. Due to concerns about a couple of cases where buggy hardware may have caused damage, the default is now to NOT use DMA automatically. To revert to the previous behaviour, say Y to this question.
------------
Mindez ATA/IDE/MFM/RLL support --->
IDE, ATA and ATAPI Block devices alatt, 2.4.25 kernel.
Nincs mit 😊
